The 2014 Volkswagen Microbus would be a modern version of Volkswagen`s iconic van. The cute, space-efficient Bulli concept, the nickname Germans gave to the original 1950-67 T1 (Transporter 1) van that America knew as the Microbus.
It is expected that the 2014 Volkswagen Microbus will be positioned as more of a premium vehicle, like the Mini Countryman. It could be somewhat larger than the Geneva concept.

The 2014 Volkswagen Microbus will obviously look like the Geneva`s Bulli concept. That means the 2014 Volkswagen Microbus will get rounded lines basic box, bulldog nose with oversized VW logo, curved windshield, a space-efficient wheels and 4 conventionally hinged side doors instead of rear sliders or the original T1′s dual French rear doors. The Bulli Concept also features a two-section panoramic sunroof that might also be available for the 2014 Volkswagen Microbus. If the 2014 Volkswagen Microbus will really look like the Concept, it is expected this model will get similar design to the Concept.
The 2014 Volkswagen Microbus is also likely to resemble the Bulli Concept’s minimalist interior. A pair of slim-section 3-passenger bench seats can be folded to create makeshift bed. The dashboard`s dock get plugging-in an iPad to control various on boards functions, such as navigation, infotainment, and climate functions.
The Bulli Concept was shown in pure electric vehicle with zero emissions that able to generate 114 horsepower electric motor powered by a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Volkswagen said the Bulli concept can sprint from 0-60 mph in 11.5 seconds and go for 186 miles between charges. VW said the Bulli concept can accommodate the Volkswagen 2014 Microbus powerplants; 3 and 4-cylinder engine both in diesel and gasoline.
It is expected that this car will get one or more of three powerplants used in other VW`s U.S model; 2.3-liter 5-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with 200 horsepower and 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel-four with 140 horsepower. The transmission will depend on the engine, either a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission. It will come with front-wheel drive only.
